You may have arrived here if you are...

Seeking guidance and support in understanding, coming out about and embracing your sexual experiences and identity as a straight, gay or bisexual person,
-
Feeling disconnected from your family and friends as a result of who you are, leaving you isolated with no one to speak with,

Looking for help to live a full life that reconciles your experiences and LGBTQ+ identity with other aspects of who you are, including faith and spirituality, career and your community.

However you arrived here, I’m so glad you’re here. Welcome.

It takes a lot of courage because coming to terms with sexual issues, coming out about LGBTQ concerns and identity can be the most challenging (and rewarding) journey you will ever go on.

Whether you are trying to make sense of sexual experiences, exploring questions about your sexual identity, or coming out for the first time, navigating these issues on your own can be very confusing.
So, you are moving in the right direction by reaching out for support.
Statistics Illuminate the Path to Healing for Sexual Identity, Coming Out and LGBTQ+ Concerns

Welcome
David Stefan, Ph.D.
Founder of The Come Alive Counseling and Coaching Collaborative
Hello, my name is Dr. Dave Stefan. I’d like to welcome you to the Come Alive Counseling and Coaching Collaborative. I know life can feel overwhelming and confusing (and also hopeful) when you decide to reach out for support.

As someone who has faced significant personal and professional challenges and come out on the other side with a much richer and more grounded sense of who I am, I can understand the range of emotions you might be experiencing.

Throughout my life, I have worked hard at my own mental and emotional well-being. Along with therapy, I have explored and applied practices that have helped me change my unhealthy beliefs, manage my emotions, and find greater fulfillment in relationships. You can learn more about my journey and background through my "12 Months to Live" and "Gratitude Project: How I Overcame Seasonal Depression" podcast series.

My approach to working with others is informed by what has helped me personally but also rests on four pillars of education, experience, science-backed research, and proven therapeutic techniques, which you can learn more about on my profile page.

In my counseling and coaching practice, I strive to create an environment that offers compassionate understanding, challenging encouragement, and research-based solutions.
