a virtual storytelling & personal growth workshop to help you understand and share your story

true tales

* brought to you by the creators of True Theatre and Breadcrumb Tales

Join us for a four-week virtual, workshop series on the power of story telling from Thursday, February 16, 2023 to Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 12:00-1:30 PM EST.  (Six hours of group coaching plus one hour of individual coaching on your story.)

The focus of this personal coaching and storytelling workshop series is for participants to reflect on their life story from a broad perspective and then focus on a significant turning point. You will also apply the elements of storytelling to develop a 10 to 15-minute personal story about this critical moment in their life.

With the help of a credentialed life coach and the founder of True Theatre's storytelling franchise, this workshop will help you:

  • Reflect on the stories of your life

  • Identify key turning points

  • Reframe challenges into shareable stories

  • Find greater meaning and purpose

Cost: $249 ($25 non-refundable registration fee; $50 discount by February 2, 2023)

Dr. Dave Stefan
Workshop Facilitator

After more than a decade as a therapist, career coach, and college professor, Dr. Dave formed a production company and set out on an extended global expedition; working and living in 20 states and 12 countries on six continents, he fulfilled a vocation exploration project called “12 Months to Live”.

He drafted a life list framed by the question, “What would I do if I had 12 months to live?” and then mapped out a series of adventures. Each month for a year, Dave experimented with a new career or personal passion: he worked with the United Nations World Food Program in Nepal, walked alone into the Cascade Wilderness for a three day/three night solo fast vision quest, and shot an adventure film while trekking up Everest.

After completing his circumnavigation of the globe, he launched a new adventure – helping others dream up, design and complete their own Come Alive Projects. Dr. Stefan has also published positive psychology research on resilience, the impact of gratitude on well-being, and meaning and purpose.

Dave Levy
Workshop Facilitator

Dave can trace his love for storytelling all the way back to riding in the rear seat of his family car while his parents played Harry Chapin on the 8-track. He is fond of the traditional forms of storytelling (fables, cautionary tales, and other fiction), but is particularly interested in factual, auto-biographical tales like those you hear on The Moth podcast or by such greats as the late Spalding Gray ("Monster in a Box," etc.) and the on-time Mike Birbiglia ("Sleepwalk With Me").

As is true with everything he loves, he wants to share it with others who he hopes will love it, too. That was his motivation behind partnering with Jeff Groh to create True Theatre. David has lived in Cincinnati since 1992 and, when he's not programming computers or enjoying time with his teenage son, he is preparing and delivering speeches as part of one of his Toastmasters clubs or involved in the local theatre scene, telling stories via a different medium as both an actor and sound designer.
